As a kid in the 80’s I recall watching MTV at a friend’s house and seeing the video for Out Of Touch and thinking, “This is what cool is.” Hall and Oates have a nice stable of hits from that decade and over the years my fondness for them has only grown. I listen to them regularly without irony, and even when I heard them being piped over the grocery store’s sound system the other night I couldn’t help but smile. As I now enter (somewhat embarrassingly) into my vinyl phase, I dream of finding a pristine Hall & Oates LP. If you’re not a fan, just listen to I Can’t Go For That and get back to me.
