Two French guys wearing robot masks cranking out throbbing electronica with sick beats? How could they be anything other than a success. Electronica has long been one of my favorite genres and in my early days of discovery I often picked up compilation CDs like ones from MTV’s Amp and a Daft Punk track or remix was always lurking. Their undercurrent of disco bewildered me, at times, but I came around. Then my dreams came true when a favorite childhood movie, TRON, and Daft Punk came together in TRON: Legacy (Derezzed). I realize the repetitive nature of their work isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but you can’t deny their skill in finding a catchy loop (Robot Rock).
